The Love of What we Do

Our horses are our loves. Each horse has their own personality, their own sense of humor, they are unique to themselves and us. Not all of them are rescued but each one of them has a story. And although we don’t know the story of them from birth, some of them we do.

Every human goes through grief and turmoil in their lives and mostly come out the other side realizing that what happened can’t be changed. Living in the past only makes what happened the focus of your life. The focus of your life should be the present and the future. That being said sometimes it is very hard to get to the present and the future. Horses have a zest for life and are always happy to see their caregivers. They have joy and a willingness to please that can really help with healing.

Everyday we are outside taking care of these amazing animals. It doesn’t matter if it’s pouring with rain like yesterday, snowing, -20 degrees or 90 degrees, the horses have to be taken care of. In caring for them, this builds resilience and gives us a focus on the future.

The Serenity Ranch wants to share this resilience and focus. We have been 20+ years in the making and have met and become friends with many amazing people, through a common denominator; HORSES. The amazing support of family and friends has enabled us to keep going. And a huge thank you to all of them.

Although we have had probably more than 100 horses that have touched our lives, the horses we share our lives with now are our main focus. Over the next month or so we are going to chat about our amazing herd now and those that have touched our lives in the past. When we think of a particular horse first comes to mind is their eyes. So much is expressed in a horses eyes. So many horses hold a huge place in our hearts and so many stories come to mind.
