Pinch Away
We are working so hard to get The Serenity Ranch off the ground. Everyday we build more resilience and adjust to what is thrown our way. We keep saying we are a pinch away from amazing success.
The Serenity Ranch is run by a mother and daughter team. We started it in Montana and made the decision to move it to Connecticut to be closer to our family. We moved 35 horses and a cow and a goat. Of course dogs and cats were included in this equation.
We run a horse sanctuary and use our rescued horses to help veterans and anyone suffering with PTSD or trauma. Our horses are amazing gentle souls.
Horses absorb your grief and trauma; then within the hour are being silly again. They love to make you laugh and are able to bring your most hidden thoughts to the surface. They allow you to nurture yourself at the same time as nurturing them. If you are a believer of the spiritual part of human existence they encompass everything spiritual. They understand if you are having a bad day. Miraculously, you feel better being with a horse.
One of our horses loves selfies! He is a beautiful blue roan Quarter Horse. His name is Latigo. His owner passed away, suddently. Because of this Latigo suffered with ulcers and ill health for quite a few years. He was grief stricken and very sad.
Now he is living his best life. He is 28 next year but still behaves like a young horse. We were asked earlier this year if someone could bring their aunt who was diagnosed with a brain tumor to visit The Serenity Ranch. She had spent a lot of time with horses when she was younger and it was on her bucket list to spend time with a horse again. Latigo was our choice to give this lady what she needed. He was an absolute superstar; she was laughing and crying at the same time. He made her day, and the most amazing experience her and her family will never forget. Was wonderful for us to see and be part of her joy.
The Serenity Ranch is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit. It is our goal to offer programs for people suffering with trauma at no cost to them. So please donate, just $5 buys a half bale of hay. So if you can give a lot or a little every donation is appreciated and put to good use.
Please wish us luck this Saturday we have a fundraiser. Photos with Mr& Mrs Santa and one of our amazing horses.
