Help, Help, Help!

We have had a really tough few weeks. The weather has been tough to handle as it’s been very cold. Even though we came to the East Coast from Montana, and experienced many colder days, we were well established and had help and support in Montana. It’s been close to impossible to find help and support here. Both of us have been unwell but taking care of the horses is always our main priority.

Horses still need food, unfrozen water and attention, no matter how sick the owner may feel. We have a fantastic volunteer which has helped amazingly. She came along, at a time when we really were close to giving up.

Horses and their care help us every day to build resilience. No matter what, they need to be fed and need to have water. On our worst days, it’s like they know we need to laugh. They make us keep a positive swing on what we do. The silly things they do to make us laugh are countless.

Two weeks ago, we found out that our funding might not happen. Just under a year ago, we hired a New York based capital campaign company to help us in raise funds to hit the ground running. Just because The Serenity Ranch is a nonprofit, doesn’t mean that we don’t need start up funding. We have been told countless times that the company had the interest of investors, but apparently that isn’t true. We have been self funding the rescue up to now. Finding out our funding won’t be happening was quite a blow.

We want to change the world with horses. We know in our hearts that our amazing horses can help so many people in so many ways. They are trained and almost internally programmed to soak up trauma and grief in ways even we don’t understand. Just being around these amazing animals is calming to young and old alike. They have been in our lives for 20+ years; some of them since they were babies. We love and cherish them with our hearts and soul and they have helped us through loss, grief, depression, and many life traumas throughout the years.

So we will keep on being positive and gain our strength in hoping we will be able to share our wonderful horses with anyone suffering with trauma and anxiety.

Please fund us, and help us reach our goals. Please donate. Even $5 will help support our mission! We need your help and support. Even if you can’t donate, please reach out to volunteer. Any help is great help!
